Come As You Are
No reservations, no dress code, no need to know a thing about wine before you walk in. Tell our team what you usually enjoy and they will point you at something on the shelf.

About us
Dave and Melanie opened the first Grapevine in Baxter Village, and there are three locations across York County now. Over 200 wine selections and over 200 retail beers sit on the shelves — browse them, and drink what you pick here or take it home.
Our story
Grapevine started in Baxter Village, Fort Mill. Dave and Melanie opened that one first, and the idea they built it around has not changed since: put the shop and the bar on the same floor, and let people choose from the shelf rather than from a list someone else wrote. It means a bottle you enjoy here is a bottle you can carry home, and a bottle you carry home costs what it costs in the shop. Two more have followed — one at Riverwalk in Rock Hill, one in Historic Downtown York — and each works the same way.

Our mission
A comfortable atmosphere where we offer a unique and distinctive mix of wines and specialty beers with value. Our multi-purpose space is home to both a retail shop and an on-site bar area.
What we stand for
No reservations, no dress code, no need to know a thing about wine before you walk in. Tell our team what you usually enjoy and they will point you at something on the shelf.
Over 200 wine selections and over 200 retail beers, all of them for sale. Drink one here for $10 corkage — $2 on beer — or take it home sealed at shop price. Anything you don't finish goes home recorked.
Every location has seating outside as well as in, boards to share, and enough space to settle into. That is what the multi-purpose part means in practice: browse, sit, stay, take something with you.
The three locations
The first Grapevine, in Fort Mill, and still the one everything else is modelled on. A retail shop and a bar on one floor, with cheese and charcuterie and a patio.
Our Rock Hill location, in the River District at Riverwalk near the river trail. Seating inside and out, river views from the open-air side, and sangria made in house.
On North Congress Street in Historic Downtown York — the one with the beer garden, where food comes out at the bar and dogs are welcome outside.
The space
Walk into any of the three and the shelves are the first thing you see: wine along the walls, beer in the cooler, glassware and accessories in among them. Past that there are tables, a bar, and somewhere to sit outside — a patio in Baxter Village, the open-air side at Riverwalk, the beer garden in York. Some evenings there is live music at Riverwalk. Most of the time it is simply a comfortable place to sit with a glass, a board, and whoever you came with.

The team
The two people who started it, the small teams who run the three locations, and whoever happens to be on the next stool. Ask any of us anything — nobody here expects you to arrive knowing the answer.
Dave and Melanie opened the first Grapevine in Baxter Village and built it as a shop and a bar at once. As they describe it: a comfortable atmosphere with a unique and distinctive mix of wines and specialty beers, with value.
Our team pours the glasses and the flights, opens whatever you carry over from the shelf, and puts the boards together. The same people look after the retail side: they will help you choose a bottle to take home, recork what you didn't finish, and find you a glass or an opener to go with it.
Grapevine sits in the middle of Baxter Village, the River District at Riverwalk and Historic Downtown York, so the person on the next stool usually lives a few streets away. It is walk-in and sit-where-you-like: come on your own and you'll end up in a conversation, or take a table outside with friends and stay as long as you want. That is what the comfortable atmosphere is for — somewhere the neighborhood can meet.
